Métabief, the nine-village ski resort in France's Jura mountains, is offering several stay deals that include a range of winter sports activities besides downhill skiing. Clients will have a chance to try biathlon shooting, learn how to drive a dog sled, or discover an authentic farmstead.

The Biathlon Initiation Weekend includes two nights in a two-star hotel, a two-hour biathlon training session, an afternoon of cross-country skiing, and a day of snowshoeing . The stay includes half-board (dinners and breakfasts) plus a Sunday lunch of regional specialties. A personal vehicle is necessary to access some of the sites. This stay starts at €216 per person.

The Great North Weekend lets guests experience the thrill of dog sledding across snowy landscapes. The half-board stay includes two nights in a two-star hotel, a day of dog-sledding classes, and a day of cross-country skiing. Participants should be in good physical condition and have their own vehicle. This stay starts at €342 per person.

Holidaymakers who wish to spend a week discovering the surrounding areas may enjoy the Hidden Faces of the Mountain stay. It offers seven nights' accommodation in a studio apartment and a week's worth of visits. Guests will discover how Mont d'Or cheese is made, how absinthe is distilled, and how beekeepers make honey and other hive products. A visit to the St. Anton fort, the Cluset-Mijoux farm, and a half day of snowshoeing with a guide are also on the programme. This stay also gives guests a day of relaxation at the thermal center of Yverdon les Bains in neighboring Switzerland. This stay starts at €144 per person.
