[R173R, Hidden Valley Four Seasons Resort] in the Laurel Mountains of Southwestern Pennsylvania has created an area dedicated to teaching beginners how to ski and snowboard.

Resort crews demolished the former maintenance building over the summer to prepare for construction of the teaching area, next to the Ski Lodge.

The area has an 8 percent grade and a new conveyor lift, which ski instructors at Hidden Valley's Wintersports U believe are a perfect combination for teaching beginners.

Adult full season passes are $445 until Oct. 1, then $545. Junior passes (age 17 and under) are $325, then $375. College passes are $295. Senior passes (age 65-69) are $325, then $375.
