[R354R, Seven Springs Mountain Resort] in Seven Springs, Penn., spent the summer on basics: planning an expansion of snowmaking capacity, behind-the-scenes infrastructure improvements, and adding a terrain park grooming machine.

"Last year was phenomenal," Seven Springs' Anna Weltz told OnTheSnow.com. "It was our second-snowiest on record, with 230 inches of snow. Of that, 135 inches fell in February. In 1993-94 we received 232 inches. "

Seven Springs went into last season with brand-new facilities - the Trillium Spa, an eight-room, year-round, full-service spa, and a year-round sporting clays facility ; and three brand-new grooming machines - Bombardier 350s.

The resort added a Prinoth Bison X terrain park groomer this summer, to care for parks that are consistently ranked among the top on the East Coast.

"Transworld Snowboarding ranked our halfpipe No. 1 on the East Coast, and our terrain parks No. 2 last year," Weltz said. "Poll results for last season are about to come out, and we understand they did very well."
