We're going to elect a sitting U.S. Senator as President this time, one way or the other. So, a little Senatorial fun in the snow is in perhaps in order.
U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC) dropped in at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort in Banner Elk, N.C Saturday (Feb. 23) for a leisurely Bavarian bratwurst lunch and some conversation with skiers, snowboarders, and representatives from the county media. She even shared sort of a bear hug with Sugar Bear, the resort mascot. Dole is running for re-election in a state she carried by 54 percent of the vote in 2002.
Gunther Jochl, Sugar Mountain Resort President, was impressed. "What an honor it is to host such an accomplished and graceful lady." We're betting Sen. Dole gets Sugar Bear's vote. He should be out of hibernation by November.
