The World Snow Festival has developed into one of the most popular winter events at the resort. Out of the blocks of snow provided, teams of artists from all over the world create remarkable sculptures on the theme of "Highs and Lows." This season staged from 15th to 20th January, the Snow Festival will celebrate its 25th jubilee.
A fortnight later The Velogemel World Championship on 4th February 2007 recognises the snow bicycle that has become a trademark of Grindelwald. Today the Velogemel is far more of a winter activity and is exported worldwide. Every year the Velogemel World Championship takes place here.
The King of the First hill on 10th March is one of the fastest and most spectacular ski races in the world, with a mass-start on the First-Oberjoch and finish line in Grindelwald.
The season rounds off with the 10th SnOwpenAir Concert on 31st March. This is the highest open-air concert in the snow at 2061m above sea level. To mark this occasion rock icon Bryan Adams will be headlining.
