Operation Open Massanutten: Complete
"It's the most cover we've had all year," said mountain rep Steve Showalter. "We're looking great."
According to Showalter it's the latest Massanutten has had to wait to go 100 percent since the 1990/91 season.
Temperatures have remained firmly below the freezing temp at night and look to stay cold through the weekend and into next week allowing the mountain to add some much needed padding to their base.
While Lake Effect snow stops before reaching the Shenandoah Valley resort, moisture-laden cold air coming up the coast does provide occasional snowstorms.
With the possibility of one such snow shower later this week, Massanutten is looking forward to a great weekend.
