The ski resort with the top average score (on a scale of 1 to 5) in each category, and a minimum number of entries, receives the award. Visitors then ranked them in five categories: Overall Favorite, Best Nightlife, Most Family-Friendly, Best Downhill Terrain, and Best Terrain Park.

"User-generated content is a very powerful and effective way Web visitors have to communicate with each other," said Mountain News Corp. President and Publisher Rob Brown. "Skiers and snowboarders are relying on the word of their peers when they make resort choices."

My family makes the 500-mile drive from our home outside Philadelphia several times a year just for a weekend of good skiing..." It's real, and they're so far north, very often when it's raining farther south, it's snowing at Jay. Heck, when it's clear skies at Smuggs and Stowe, it's snowing at Jay."

Jay Peak has been known for its unbelievable terrain, incomparable glades, and abundant natural snowfall for 50 years. Vermont's only Aerial Tramway is one of eight lifts accessing 385 acres of terrain, including 76 trails.
