Glenwood is surrounded by ski regions. Sunlight is just outside of town. [R25R, Aspen and Snowmass] are a short drive south, down Highway 82, with their four resorts. [R482R, Vail] and [R36R, Beaver Creek] are about the same distance to the east. [R329R, Powderhorn] is a little bit farther down the highway to the west. Glenwood is the perfect place to stop with plenty of activities this summer.

The Hot Springs Pool is a highlight in summer or winter. Soak it all in like the Ute Indians used to do. They thought of the springs as "big medicine," and a source of physical regeneration with mental and spiritual nourishment. Today, the springs have slides, lap lanes, and diving boards, with plenty of room for everyone.

Nestled above Glenwood is the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Leave on a tram from the Americ Inn, which is almost in the middle of town. The highlight is the cavern tour. Guides bring you underground to see the spectacular caves which were formed millions of years ago. You'll see stalagmites, stalactities, cave bacon, and more. The park also offers a 4D theater, laser tag, gondola rides, an alpine slide, swing shot, bungee trampoline, and simulated bull ride. The Lookout Grille provides food if you're hungry.

River rafting is the other popular activity through Glenwood in the summer. Commercial raft companies guide visitors down the Colorado and Roaring Fork rivers. The Glenwood Springs Whitewater Park is open to paddlers of all skill levels. It's right on the Colorado River in West Glenwood Springs. The park is designed to host international kayaking competitions drawing paddlers from all over the world.
