[R187R, Indianhead Mountain], the big chief of Michigan's UP (Upper Peninsula) ski resorts, has some fun events scheduled this month. With all the great snow - so far over 12 feet - skiing and riding has been superb.
The Klement's Sausage man will be at Indianhead Saturday, March 13. It's a sausage-fest cookout, featuring, of course, Klement's sausage, and contests and games throughout the day. It's rumored that even the sausage guys will race. This is the UP, eh?
A bikini race and fashion show is slated for Saturday, March 20. This popular spectator event takes place at 1 p.m. on the Chippewa Headwall. These UP women are tough, and they will be going all out. Best time and crowd appeal prizes are handed out. It's a modified slalom course set up, and prizes include a season pass and a weekend lift and lodging package.
The infamous Slush Cup is Saturday, March 27. This is a crowd favorite, and you might even see a more few bikini clad racers. Did I say those UP women are tough?
A two-day lift and lodging special is available throughout the season. The package, which starts from $139 per person based on double occupancy, includes two nights lodging in a hotel room and a two-day lift ticket. These are in limited supply each night of the season. First come, first serve. Don't delay in making a reservation if you have dates in mind.
