You are a good distance from New Orleans, but get ready to enjoy some Cajun-style food and throw down some Hurricane drink specials at [R338R, Granite Peak]'s Mardi Gras Festival Saturday, Feb. 20.  There will be silly slalom races for all ages, lift ticket and dinner specials, and don't forget the beads.  What's a Mardi Gras without beads, even in the Cheesehead State?  G-Man will be performing blues music in the Saloon.

Get ready to celebrate the fourth annual Pulaski Weekend Festival Feb. 27-March 1 at the Peak.  The Badger State has a large Polish population.  There will be lift ticket and dinner specials Saturday, and Jim Carlson will be playing in the Saloon that night. Grab the lederhosen Sunday. There will be lots of Polish food and music, and beer specials will be pouring on the new outdoor patio.  Children's arts and crafts projects, sponsored by Wausau's Woodson Art Museum, will be taking place in the Sundance Chalet.   The festival continues Monday with more Polish food and drink and, of course, lots of great skiing and riding all the time.

Three-day lift tickets for the price of two days will be available during Pulaski Fest.

You can check out area lodging specials for the long three-day weekend through the links below.  The ski area works with the Wausau Area CVB and lodging hosts around the city.  There's a wide variety of motels, downtown hotels, and B&Bs to choose from.  It's a neat city with lots of attractions.
