British travel and ski writer Arnie Wilson plans to be the first human being ever to ski in each of the 40 states that has lift-served skiing, but there is a certain fine madness to Wilson's quest.

Wilson is being chauffeured about the Northeast United States by longtime ski entrepreneur Bernie Weichsel, promoter of the Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo, and familiar figure on the region's slopes.

Weichsel lists Wilson as among the very top ski journalists in the world, and invites people to join them on the slopes at [R259R, Mountain Creek].

Plans are to be at the base area around 12:30 p.m. Jan. 27.

Wilson is editor of England's Ski & Board, writes for the Financial Times, and has published several books on ski travel.

He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the first person to ski every day of the year.

If Wilson is successful in New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Ohio on this trip, he will have just Arizona to ski to complete his goal.

Meanwhile, Mountain Creek has 39 trails and eight lifts open.
