As if three days of heli-skiing some of the West's best hidden backcountry terrain wasn't enough of an escape. Ruby Mountain Heli-Experience in Nevada has partnered with Snowbird to give guests even more - a two day warm-up with lodging at [R404R, Snowbird].

The getaway includes three nights' accommodations, gourmet meals, and three days of helicopter-accessed skiing with professional guides, plus the two days at Snowbird for $4,100- the same price as without the Bird addition. Ruby Mountain is located west of Salt Lake City at the base of Nevada's Lamoille Canyon near Elko and easily accesses more than 3,000 vertical feet and 200,000 skiable acres. The operation runs through April, but the Snowbird package is only available the week of March 25 so sign up early if you are interested. Guests will need to get to the Rubies on their own but it's an easy 4.5 hour drive.

RMHE created the Snowbird add-on because most of their heli skiers fly into Salt Lake International anyway. This way you'll be able to warm-up and get in some practice runs before your big event.

Packages with RMH's seasoned guides guarantee 39,000 vertical feet of skiing, as well as outstanding food and lodging at Reds Ranch in Lamoille.

Look into Wasatch Powerbird Guides and Diamond Peaks Heli Skiing, if you'd rather just stay in Utah.
