[R318R, Perfect North Slopes] hosts a couple of fun events in March to celebrate the end of the winter season.

Spring Carnival, complete with a slush pit, takes place Sunday, March 4, and the area’s annual Pink Flamingo Camp, for those that want to improve their freestyle side, takes place the weekend of March 17.

The annual carnival is an entertaining event for the whole family. There are a variety of fun activities taking place on the slopes and the tubing hill. Decorated cardboard box races, the slush pit run and downhill dummy exhibition are always popular spectator events.

Ever wanted to improve your technique for riding the rails, boxes and hitting jumps in the terrain park? If the answer is yes, check out Pink Flamingo Camp, Perfect North’s annual freestyle camp for skiers and riders.

Cost for the two-day camp is $150 per person if you register prior to March 11, and $175 after that date. It includes breakfast, lunch and coaching. No rental equipment is permitted in the class and helmets are strongly recommended. If you register before March 11, you get a Pink Flamingo T-shirt. Go here for information on the carnival and camp.

The camp has become known as the place for freestyle enthusiasts throughout the Midwest to come for postseason riding, with unique features that both push riders and facilitate learning. Coaches focus on what riders want to learn while emphasizing Smart Style and Terrain Park Etiquette.

Perfect North partners with nearby lodging properties for weekend lift and lodging packages that offer easy access to the slopes, and many include breakfast. Package rates start from $135 per night for two adults. Most are within 20 to 30 miles of the ski area.
