In honor of 2012 being a leap year, [R304R, Okemo Mountain Resort] has added the AMP Energy Big Air Bag to their park and pipe lineup. Now skiers and riders can go big and practice new tricks, without worrying about going home in a neckbrace.

The Air Bag is 30 feet wide and 50 feet long and features two inflatable chambers: the bottom chamber is firm (maintaining stability) while the upper one is soft (for a cushie landing). Internal air pumps ensure a constant air pressure. Even if the upper chamber is too soft, the jumper will never hit the ground since the bottom chamber is there to absorb the fall. Phew.

Cost: $6 for one jump, $15 for three

Hours: 10 a.m - 2 p.m, Monday through Friday; 9 a.m - 3 p.m on weekends

Tickets are available for purchase at the Clock Tower Resort Services Desk and at the on-mountain ticket booth located near the base of Okemo’s Northstar Express Quad Lift. Watch skiers and riders huck it live on the Air Bag webcam.
