This weekend marks the start to the 2011/2012 ski season for resorts in Quebéc, Canada. With some of the best snowmaking in eastern Canada and the recent assistance from Mother Nature, [R477R, Tremblant], [R428R, Stoneham] and [R248R, Mont-Sainte-Anne] will open their lifts to holiday skiers and riders.

Tremblant will open Thanksgiving Day at 8:30 a.m. with six runs from the summit to mid-mountain on both the South—access via the Gondola, and North side—access via Lowell Thomas chair. Three terrain park features will be available for freestyle skiers and riders.

Stoneham Mountain Resort will open for night skiing Friday, Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. and Mont-Sainte-Anne will follow on Saturday, Nov. 26.

At Mont-Sainte-Anne, skiers and riders will enjoy two trails on the North Side and beginners will have access to the school slope at the base, with the magic carpet lift running. This lift access is free at all times (at Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham) to encourage the initiation of the sport. At Stoneham, the trail #2 will be open in addition to a small snow park at the base.

Mont-Sainte-Anne will remain open seven days a week, but Stoneham will be closed next week, to re-open on Dec. 2 full time.
