[R1379R, Mount St. Louis Moonstone], one of Ontario's busiest snowsports resorts, has a full slate of teaching programs for children and adults that cover all aspects of skiing and riding. There's even one for aspiring teaching professionals, where you work along with seasoned pros in development of the kids' programs. All programs are eight weeks long, and range in cost from $310 (CA) ($292.31 US) to $780 (CA) ($735.64 US) for the four-hour Ridge and Slope Racer Programs.

Don't wait long if you are interested in signing up for one of the lesson programs.  Registration deadline is Jan. 2, 2010, and lessons start the following weekend.  Follow the link below to check them out.

Children as young as three can start in the Ski Hearts, which is designed for kids 3-5.  It's a great way to get your young skier started in a lifelong sport.  Beginner programs for snowboarders start at eight years old.  Programs for all terrain intermediate and advanced skiers and riders are available for 8-12, and young free skiers 8-16.  Adult ski programs start at 18.

The Assistant Pro program, designed to groom future ski and snowboard professionals, is available for ages 15 and up.

Moonstone boasts one of the finest collections of high-speed lifts mid-continent with three six-seaters and a quad.  No waiting in slow moving lines or a slow ride up the hill.  However, there's also three regular quads, a triple, and three magic carpets.  They can lift over 23,000 people per hour.

It offers a 550-foot vertical drop, 40 runs with a nice mix of difficulty, two super pipes, and two terrain parks.  The longest run is two-kilometers.  This is Canada after all.  For those that live below the border that's about a mile-and-a-quarter, which is nice length for the Great Lakes Region.
