With a base of over 30 inches of natural snow from top to bottom, Brian Rode, spokesperson for Marmot, said: "Everyone in Jasper is stoked about the early opening. They're scrambling to get their season pass photos taken." Five of Marmot's nine lifts will turn Friday, Nov. 17, and the resort plans to open dozens of runs. "Even 'Slash' and 'Spillway'are going to open - runs that typically don't open until mid-December," said Rode. "We're looking at an epic season!"
