Deck The Slopes
Nearly 50 inches of new snow fell last week (Dec. 24-31) in the Wasatch. Snowbird says "50 inches in five days (Dec. 20-25). Incredibly, 35 inches fell in the Cottonwood Canyons between Thursday, Dec. 20 and Saturday, Dec. 22. A Christmas Eve storm blanketed resorts with as much as 15 additional inches throughout Utah, and sunny skies on Christmas Day created powder perfect skiing. Even Snowbasin which usually sees less snow than the other resorts got whalloped. They received 28 inches between Dec. 28-30. Forecasts suggest that an additional 6–10 inches are expected in the Cottonwood Canyons by Thursday, Jan. 3, with more storms on the way.
