While working in hospitality, especially at night, it is always hard to find some time to get away and treat yourself to something nice; which is why I took my family and me to enjoy Windham Mountain Club when I finally got the chance. Except, the service here was so bad that there was no way I could've enjoyed spending time there. I tried my best to book a ski trip that was at its fullest potential: rentals, private instructor, snow tubing. I accidentally booked the wrong date for a private instructor and realized it too late but took accountability for it. I would never try to make anyone else's life miserable or difficult, as I understand what it is like to deal with difficult customers since, again, I work in the hospitality industry as well. I arrived at the Ski & Ride School building, where I spoke with Oscar and that's when we both realized my mistake. He proceeded to call the front desk and you can already hear the nasty attitude from the other person on the other side of the phone call. Oscar explains the situation to her and she just goes on and says: "What the hell am I supposed to do with that?" Oscar then told me that I could go to the front desk where they would help me get a gift card for the amount of the private lessons. After we had left the Ski & Ride School building, my family and I decided to just try and teach ourselves how to snowboard. After we finished snowboarding, I stopped by the front desk to retrieve the gift card. I don't remember her name, Betsy/Bessy/Betty, the one with dark hair, glasses, wrinkles, and a bad attitude, if you see her, you'd know. She just goes "Oh so you're the one I was waiting hours for." Then when she handed over the gift card, I asked if it was a part of their policy to call customers or not if their appointments for the private instructor ended up being a no-show or late. She then proceeded to say in a backhanded manner, "No we don't do that because customers usually double-check and confirm their information." I don't know what her problem is. It's not like I was told to go to the front desk immediately. They close at 4 PM. We arrived at the mountain at 1:30 PM. You would still have to work the remaining 2.5 hours regardless of whether I show up immediately after speaking with the Ski & Ride School or not. In hospitality, I am accustomed to facilities checking up on customers; I do it while working. It's not like I was blaming them for missing the appointment. I took full accountability for my mistake and was just wondering about their policies. Nothing is worse than coming out of a consecutive 32-hour long shift, then driving 3 hours and trying to enjoy time with your family, just for an employee to ruin your day by sneaking in disses and comments with a bad attitude. I truly think Windham Mountain Club should go through intensive hospitality re-training. Even though I have a gift card to use, I'm only using it to stay at any of the hotels it works with. I will never come back to Windham Mountain Club after the experience I had with the front desk. In addition, the Food Hall Kitchen closes 2 hours before (3 PM) closing (5 PM). It doesn't mention that on their website so plan ahead and just eat somewhere else.

I was a first time snowboarder on vacation with my girlfriend and her family. I cannot say that we have other experiences at similar locations to compare, but overall, this was one of the worst experiences we have had with service staff on any vacation we have been on. The staff was rude, abrasive, and almost seemed to be upset at the thought of having to help someone. Would not recommend.

Nice mountain they had just gotten some snow so conditions were good. Lots of varied terrain with some challenging runs. Lodge is very nice with excellent food and an active bar. Only gripe I have is they tack on a gratuity without letting you know unless you read the fine print on the receipt.
Close to home
Expensive for a relatively small mount.

I love this mountain. The only thing it lacks is snow, but besides that it has beautiful views and once the season gets going there is plenty of snow C:
Lots of fun
Lack of snow sometimes

$180 for a day is way too steep for what is offered

It is the best beginner experience in New York, and one of the best in the east. Next year, they will have two beginner devoted high speed chairlifts. (They are replacing D this summer) They also have more double blacks than Hunter. Hunter also feels to touristy.
Incredible beginner-expert experience
Not much snow

Friday was a real surprise in that there was the best snow of the year and no lines. Astounding grooming in that the trails that were groomed had not an ice patch. Super friendly staff and everyone I rode the lift upbeat because of the excellent job grooming and snow making staff did. Stopped skiing at 1515 with a huge smile of satisfaction for a perfect day.
Skied on absolutely great snow ALL made and groomed
No moguls this year

My dad was an instructor here during college. My parents later on bought a house 2 minutes away. Now as a family, we ski every weekend in the winter here. It is very family friendly and better than Hunter. If you this mountain is a consideration of yours, forget about the others, this is the one.
