Snow Reporter Comments: 10:30am Update: Corduroy was winter-soft this morning, firming up in areas with more traffic. The cloud layer is below the village leaving the majority of the mountain basking in the sun. Wind is cool, so grab an extra layer. We haven't received a lot of snow so far this season but we are doing everything we can to have terrain open for you. With that in mind, please keep an eye for natural obstacles. Have fun and will see you out there. -TT 01/18 AM Update: We had a blast last night with a beautiful display of fireworks in the fog and full-on party energy in the Village. This morning, the vibe is clear, cool, crisp and perfectly groomed. While the Snow Gods are taking a brief break from dumping fresh powder, the grooming team has been working their magic to provide some high speed, corduroy bliss. We have a high pressure system sitting over us providing sunshine and breathtaking views. It's going to be a sunscreen and shades kind of day. :) The groomers will be "hero snow" first thing in the morning. Get those edge to edge turns in before things soften up in the afternoon. The holiday weekend continues today with the Deschutes Red Chair snow bar providing hydrating beverages, hunt for the golden keg, Nastar racing, twilight skiing and riding, live music in Taps and more fun to discover. So come on up and join the party. Schup:) January is National Ski Safety Month: You can never be too safe on the slopes! We are encouraging all guests to remember and abide by the Triangle of Safety. Always be aware of yourself, your speed, and your space. Be sure to give other skiers and riders 15 feet of space when you're out riding. Important Reminder: Ski Patrol is asking everyone to please respect all ropes and closures.  Duck a rope, lose your pass. Now is a good time to brush up on your winter Safety tips and reminder yourself about the Skiers Responsibility Code.  Have fun and stay safe out there. What's going on this week?Check out the Events Page and This Week at Schweitzer for all latest happenings.
