2016/2017 Völkl Confession ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s Powder Category.

The Confession is a new model from Völkl, and at 117-mm underfoot, clocks in as the widest in the big mountain series. Testers who took the new ski to task at Snowbird lauded the Confession’s stability but were less charmed by its playfulness. “Charge bigger lines at faster speeds with this heavy, powerful ski,” says Witman. “Put the work in and you will love it.” Völkl worked to create a strong yet lightweight sidewall construction, which includes a band of Titanal, designed for the dampening aspects of titanium without all the weight, plus carbon strings alongside the multi-layer wood core. The Confession has a tapered shape plus tip and tail rocker. “Are you an aggressive skier?” asks Rice. “You better be, because this is one strong ride.”
