2016/2017 Dynastar Cham 2.0 117 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s Powder Category.

The widest of the Cham freeride series skis by Dynastar, the Cham 2.0 117 received high tester marks for flotation and lower scores for versatility (Look to the narrower Cham 2.0 97 for high stability totals). The 117-mm-waisted ski sports the shape synonymous with the Chamonix-inspired series—the Progressive 5-point sidecut, where the widest point is located in the forebody. “The float is enhanced with its modern sidecut plus plenty of width for powder,” says Jakob. The wide tip (147 mm) has moderate rocker with a narrower, rockered pin tail (127 mm), designed to enhance tip float as well as edge grip. Construction includes full-length vertical sidewalls and a paulownia wood core. “The aggressive skier will find this ski stable, committed and adept at powering through anything,” says March.
