2016/2017 K2 Pinnacle 95 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s All-Mountain Back Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

With the Pinnacle 95, K2 looks to the aerospace industry in order to reduce weight and density without loosing performance. The 95-mm-waisted ski has Konic Technology, or a “cone” shaped core compilation of materials that places dense aspen wood along the edges in addition to lightweight airplane-grade Nanolite composite material running up the center, through the tip and tail. The result? “A stable ski at speed with great versatility on- and off-piste,” says Cole. Playfulness and stability topped tester scorecards, while powder performance received the lowest marks. Further construction details include alternating layers of fiberglass and titanium, a slow rise rockered tip, and a tapered, low rockered tail. “This ski leans more toward a carving ski since it’s stable on edge and at speed,” says Hill.
