2016/2017 Völkl Kenja ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Front Category.

A venerable Völkl all-mountain ski, the 90-mm-waisted Kenja is sister to the wider Aura (100-mm underfoot). Both sport a race-ski style construction, which includes titanium, vertical sidewalls and multi-layer wood core with poplar and dense ash underfoot. Rocker profile varies: while the Aura is fully-rockerd, the Kenja has tip and tail rocker with freeride-oriented tapered shape. “This is an amazing ski for hard-charging women,” says Brown. “Expect dampness, but expect to tackle anything that comes your way.” Testers awarded the Kenja the highest scores in the category for stability but were less impressed on the playfulness front. “Nuked when you put ‘em on edge,” says Harkins. “Hold on because this ski is super stable at speed.”
