2016/2017 Salomon QST 92 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its All-Mountain Front Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.
“So easy to ski, it’s almost not fair,” says Dittmar of the new Salomon QST 92. “It’s light and amazingly playful.” All testers commented on the QST 92’s fun factor, resulting in highest ratings of all skis in the category for playfulness, lower in the stability arena. This 92-mm-waisted ski has a freeski heritage, including a wide rockered tip, hook free tapered and rockered tail. The lightweight construction includes Salomon’s Spaceframe full wood core with a layer of CFX, an extremely strong yet lightweight fiber made from flax. Frontside performance comes from a full sandwich sidewall construction and a reinforced area located under the binding. “It swings and pivots easily and is just plain fun to ski anywhere on the frontside and a little off-piste,” says Loomans.
