2016/2017 K2 Luv Machine 74 Ti ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Frontside Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

“I want to keep playing with the Luv Machine,” says Muecke. “The tradeoff for playfulness is a little stability, but there’s a big sweet spot and easy maneuverability.” Testers indeed graded the 74-mm-waisted ski high marks in the playfulness category, slightly lower tied marks for both carving and stability. Construction includes a layer of metal and K2’s Channel Light Core, a combination of fir, paulownia and bamboo with grooved “channels” placed down the length of the ski to reduce weight. The shape includes a blunt rockered tip and flat tail. “It’s softer than other skis in the category but fun because it’s easy to engage or slide in a variety of terrain and conditions,” says Brown.
