2016/2017 Head Super JOY SLR ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Frontside Category.

“Light, strong and consistently stable at short- to medium-radius turns,” says Wieringa of the Head Super JOY SLR, which earned its highest tester tallies for versatility and lowest for playfulness. “The ski chattered at high speeds, so best suited for women who prefer cruising down groomers and bump runs,” says Rodman. Core construction in the 75-mm-waisted ski includes a mix of Graphene, carbon, Koroyd (all lightweight materials) and wood. Design elements also include Head’s ERA 3.0, which features tip rocker, a progressive radius and vibration-reducing Intelligence Stabilizers. The SLR stands for “SuperLiteRail,” a plate and binding system designed with the ski.
