2016/2017 Fischer KOA 80 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Frontside Category.

“This ski performs best cruising on soft groomers,” says Muecke of the Fischer KOA 80. As one of three KOA models, the 80-mm-waisted ski has two weight-saving tech stories: Air Tec Ti technology that uses milled out sections of the wood in the core for high strength-to-weight ratio, and Razorshape profile that levels off the sidewalls toward the edge. The KOA 80 also has a traditional sandwich sidewall construction and a long rockered tip. Tester marks came in highest for caving, lower for versatility. “It’s super damp,” says Harkins. “It can grip and rip at all speeds, but don’t expect any pop out of the turn.”
