2016/2017 Kästle MX84 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s Frontside Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

“The Bugatti of frontside skis,” says Jakob of the Kästle MX84. “Tip them over, stay in the center and enjoy the hold throughout the arc.” Testers scored the 84-mm-waisted fully cambered ski highest scores for carving, lowest for playfulness. “It has a softer tail than other skis in the category,” says Loomans. “Ultimately it’s a fun, trustworthy ski with good energy, but not too much to kick you around.” Construction includes sandwich sidewalls, an ash/silver fir wood core and Titanal. Kästle’s updated Hollowtech 2.0 technology removes mass in the tip in order to reduce swing weight and increase stability.
