Black Diamond Cold Forge Hoody review. OnTheSnow reviewed this jacket as part of its 2015/2016 Lifestyle Buyers' Guide.

Favorite Features: A perfect piece for multitasking at its finest, Black Diamond’s Cold Forge Hoody can layer or stand alone on the mountain and on the town, with an awesome albeit subtle asymmetry to the stitching we just love. The cozy warmth of the PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Down Blend is apparent at first zip, and we appreciate all the techy performance features like the adjustable hem, dual stash pockets and stretch cuffs.

Room for Improvement: Our only complaint? This might be too techy for a lifestyle piece, which we’ve classified as such because it made the most sense here. Black Diamond categorizes it as an insulator. Point being, it looks great on its own, but you’re definitely missing out on some of these features if you don’t get this jacket in action.

Fit: Fits beautifully true to size and is so comfy, you might find even more uses/excuses to work this into your wardrobe (like, for instance, during a long travel day flying to Germany... or something much less specific).

On-the-Town Review: Like a newfound security blanked of sorts, we're officially attached to this warm, waterproof jacket—both of those attributes we've been able to verify and stamp with a double thumbs up. In fact, we've yet to meet a condition that phases this bad boy.

Manufacturer Description: The Cold Forge Hoody brings the warmth of PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Down Blend, captured behind a substantial Pertex® Microlight® shell that’s tough enough to solo into mountainous terrain, but also looks great worn around town or at a ski area après.
