2015/2016 Blizzard Samba ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Back Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

It’s no surprise to Blizzard enthusiasts that our testers gave the 98-mm-waisted Samba high marks for stability: Blizzard Editors’ Choice skis rank among the top three for stability in all categories for both men and women. “When put on edge, this ski holds the line,” says Muecke, echoing a common sentiment among testers. The race-meets-freeride construction includes Flipcore 3D technology, which adds tip and tail rocker in the molding process instead of bending it afterwards. It’s also built with sandwich sidewalls, a wood core made from a blend of poplar, bamboo and paulownia, plus a layer of titanium. “It’s a stiff ski without feeling planky,” says Fried. “It carves, it floats, it maneuvers—it rules.”
