2015/2016 RAMP Chickadee ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Front Category.

“A heavy directional ski that rewards a strong driver,” says Rodman of the RAMP Chickadee. Testers gave the 90-mm-waisted ski its highest scores for carving, lower for versatility and playfulness. Construction of the American-made ski (built in Utah) includes a full bamboo core—reportedly harder than aspen or poplar—with a layer of Kevlar. RAMP’s Razor Cut shape has a straighter sidecut in the heel area for increased edge grip. The tip has significant rocker while the stiffer tail has slight rocker. “This ski rails like a freight train,” says Muecke. “It’s damp and on the stiff side but easy to get on edge.”
