2015/2016 Salomon Q-103 Stella ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Powder Category

The Q-103 Stella, at 102 mm underfoot, is Salomon’s widest women’s ski. Q-line models, called “all-mountain backside” skis, are designed to handle a variety of snow and terrain both on and off-piste. Rodman calls the Q-103 “trustworthy in all but really rough terrain,” and testers recorded highest marks for stability, lower for carving. “This ski is a little softer and easy turning than some others in the category,” says Muecke. “It’s playful and pleasant in soft conditions.” The Q-103 Stella has a Honeycomb Tip, or air-filled pockets in a honeycomb design added for better flotation. Construction includes a full wood core, Salomon’s capped Edgy Monocoque and a rockered tip and tail. Salomon’s Camlock makes the Q-103 Stella skin compatible.
