2015/2016 HEAD Super JOY ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Frontside Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

Last season, Head’s new women’s line made headlines, in part because of the addition of Graphene, a material engineers borrowed from tennis racquets that’s stronger than steel but with the thickness of one atom, adding “a light and snappy feel,” according to Muecke. The Super JOY earned high scores this year for carving, and in the words of Pugliese, “is the best in class for carving thanks to super nimbleness and lightness.” The Super JOY’s core is a mix of Graphene, carbon, Koroyd (all lightweight materials) and wood. Design also includes ERA 3.0, which features tip rocker, a progressive radius, vibration-reducing Intelligence Stabilizers and a system binding. “It’s a fun, quick edge-to-edge, versatile slalom ski,” says Rodman.
