2015/2016 Scott Black Majic ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s Frontside Category.

The Black Majic’s waist ranges between 75 and 80 mm, according to the length, so it runs on the wider side of the skis in the Frontside Category. It tied for versatility and playfulness on the higher side, lower scores for stability, and Bills, an instructor at Snowbird, calls it “a forgiving ski that’s suited more for off-piste or soft conditions than icy groomers.” The Black Majic features Scott’s 3Dimension sidecut and features a tip and tail radius because of the sidecut design. Construction includes a sandwich sidewall and wood core with two Titanal sheets on the top and bottom. “The soft flex allows you to manipulate this ski,” says Maybon. “That said, it’s a touch soft to hold high speed turns on firm snow.”
