2015/2016 Kästle CPM82 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s Frontside Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

Kästle says this new carbon fiber ski is designed for “all-mountain frontside skiers,” and testers agree, awarding the CPM82 high scores across the board, many mentioning that it’s one of Kästle’s most versatile skis. “Quick turns and long turns are both right in its wheelhouse,” says Stoeger. Construction includes sandwich/cap sidewalls, wood core, a top and bottom layer of titanium, and a layer of light yet strong carbon. The 82-mm-waisted CPM is fully cambered and includes Hollowtech in the milled out tip, designed to reduce swing weight. “The light swing weight makes for easy work in the trees,” notes Smid. “It’s for an all-mountain skier who wants a light, stable ski.”
