2015/2016 Dynastar Course Speed Fluid ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s Frontside Category.

Dynastar adds new Lateral Flex technology to the Speed series, a family of race-level frontside skis. Lateral Flex translates to vertical “slots” in the forebody designed to friendly up the torsional flex. Skis in the series have World Cup sandwich construction, full vertical sidewalls and a swing-weight reducing cascade tip. Ertl calls the 71-mm-wasited Course Speed Fluid “very agile, nimble and quick foot-to-foot, favoring an energetic skier,” and testers gave it consistent scores across the board, highest for playfulness. The Course Speed Fluid has turn-friendly tip rocker, Dynastar’s R21 Racing Plate and a sub-World Cup flex thanks to lightweight paulownia mixed with poplar and Titanal. “It’s not a race bomber, and the tip deflected in crud,” notes Smid. “But if you’re looking for a fun, light ski that’s easy to roll on edge, try this.”
