2015/2016 Blizzard X8 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s Frontside Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

“Power to the 8th degree—this is a hard-snow charger,” says Pugliese of the Blizzard X8. Testers awarded the 81-mm-waisted ski the highest scores in both carving and stability. The construction echoes a durable race-ski, sandwich sidewall layup, but the wider waist adds all-mountain versatility. The core includes wood and titanium, and the rocker profile adds early rise to the tip and tail. Blizzard’s IQ System combines a rail and IQ binding fixed in the center with one screw, designed to create a natural flex pattern as well as reduce weight. “This ski demands strength but rewards with GS power as it holds and releases with ease,” says Smid. “I enjoy the all-mountain-meets-race-ski feel.”
