FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The lightly insulated Manhattan pant fits true to size in the waist, and what Eider calls “light amber” is much closer to a mustard yellow. By themselves, the pants are pretty bright, but combined with the grey Red Square jacket the brightness was significantly toned down, making for a great-looking kit.

FAVORITE FEATURES: The high-back waistline, convenient zipped and covered thigh pocket, and the breathable Defender fabric details stood out the most. The Manhattan also includes an elastic belt, which is a nice addition with functionally that works well. Thigh pockets are a necessity while shopping for ski pants in our book, and Eider’s inclusion of one fit into the design well, along with being very convenient to access.

MANUFACTURER DESCRIPTION: Lightly insulated and relaxed fit, the Manhattan pants are an easy-to-wear ski pant that also deliver on style. The Defender Twill fabric and membrane have a unique finish while also providing impressive waterproofness and breathability, leaving you with nothing to worry but to simply enjoy your time on the mountain.
