FIRST IMPRESSIONS: If you’re not used to wearing bibs and suspenders on your ski pants, the sheer amount of fabric you’ll get could be daunting. Luckily, SCOTT makes the Ridge pants adaptable enough that you can remove the bib and suspenders on a warm day, or when you don’t plan to encounter massive amounts of powder. But we’re always optimistic we’ll find that huge stash somewhere, so we found it just as easy to wear these pants with all the accessories. The “regular” fit is neither constricting nor gratuitous, in fitting fashion. The only time we were longing for more flexibility was when finally sitting down for a cold drink after a long day on the mountain.

FAVORITE FEATURES: Heavy-duty ankle reinforcements mean business, along with a metal buckle to tie down the openings if you find the pant legs too wide. The vents on these pants are sufficient, though we always make the case for larger airflow openings. Overall, we find this one of the more versatile pants of the season.

MANUFACTURER DESCRIPTION: Designed with versatility in mind, the SCOTT Ridge Pant doubles as a heavy-duty big mountain pant and an easy, everyday driver. With a detachable, zip-off bib and suspenders, you can easily handle waist deep powder shots or setting a boot track. GORE-TEX 3 layer ensures durability, breathability, and protection while CORDURA scuff panels assure you’ll be ripping turns in these pants for seasons to come.
