FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Cliché as it may sound, it was love at first sight. I knew these pants and I were meant for each other the moment I laid eyes at SIA. Trying them on only confirmed that sentiment. With a relaxed, true-to-size fit that suits skier and snowboarder alike, these pants are also uber flattering. The five zippered and snap pockets are all functional and add an awesome design aesthetic to the urban-esque style. An adjustable waist lets you dial in the fit, and mesh-backed thigh vents will air the heat out when the light insulation does too good a job.

FAVORITE FEATURES: My love story with Eider’s Red Square Pants may have started more like an unhealthy obsession—That twill material! That fit! That high back! At our ski test in March, my colleagues reminded me that I still had them on well after happy hour and into the night. And that’s precisely what you get with Eider’s Crossover Collection: pieces you won’t want to take off because they look so damn good, on-mountain and otherwise. I also love that you can rock a belt, with loops just below the extended back—speaking of which, you won’t know what you ever did without that little bit of extra material for limiting exposure in more ways than one.

MANUFACTURER DESCRIPTION: The Red Square Pants are a ski girl’s dream come true. 100 percent super stylish and incredibly flattering, they will quickly become an all-time favorite. Stretch twill and preformed knees assure excellent freedom of movement, while the light insulation and leg vents provide comfort in a variety of conditions. The alluded drop waist resembles the cut of favorite pair of jeans, but the discreet Cormax panel continues above the waist, keeping the cold and snow out.
