2015 Head Big JOY ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Powder Category.

Head caught testers’ attention this year with a dramatically different women’s line for the 2014/15 ski season. “Head gets most improved this year!” says Minneci. The new JOY series includes material borrowed from tennis racquets, called Graphene—a substance stronger than steel but with the thickness of one atom. The Big JOY includes tip rocker, a progressive radius and vibration-reducing Intelligence Stabilizers. Testers gave the 110-mm-waisted ski high scores for versatility and float. According to Pugliese, Head aptly named the new skis: “They’re a big joy in the trees, a big joy in the bowls and a big joy in the moguls.” Minneci found these particular planks to be “Strong and stable for such a lightweight ski,” adding to the accolades: “Easy turning, easy flotation, easy way to get in some good skiing.”
