2015 Faction Supertonic ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Powder Category.

“This ski is able to stay on top of soft snow or cut through most conditions,” says Rodman of the Supertonic, a freeride twintip from Verbier, Switzerland-based Faction. The 107-mm-waisted ski has generous tip and tail rocker, and testers scored it highest for float, lower for versatility. On the stiffer side of Faction’s flex index, the Supertonic has a poplar and ash wood core and fiberglass laminates as well as STP Technology, which presses small waves down the length of the ski to increase torsional strength while reducing weight. “It’s light, playful and easy to turn in soft snow, but hard to get an edge on hard pack,” says Muecke.
