2015 K2 Potion 90 XTi ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Front Category.

Love potion and witchy metaphors aside, the Potion 90 XTi is something to sing about. The 90-mm-waisted ski received the highest average score in the category, plus top scores for versatility and carving. Fried calls it “a ski for the masses,” thanks to its “easy maneuverability and fun factor.” Tech-laden, the 90 XTi has a secondary X-shaped carbon web core on top of the primary wood and Titanal core, designed to add torsional rigidity as well as vibration absorption. Long rise tip rocker and a small amount of rocker in the tapered flat tail appealed to testers as well. “Sassy, slick and simply fun,” says Johnson. “It doesn’t bite hard but gets over on edge and makes a variety of turn shapes,” says Pugliese. The ski ups its versatility factor even further with skin-compatible grommets for backcountry skiing use.
