2015 Armada ARV W ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s All-Mountain Front Category.

Testers say the ARV W has a park mindset—more playful than directive, and thus scored it high in the playfulness category. “It’s playful in soft snow and bumps but sometimes washes out on harder snow,” says Pugliese. The ARV W’s construction includes Armada’s Hybrid UltraLight Core, made of lightweight wood plus fiberglass layered in a lattice pattern. The all-mountain twin tip has a 97-mm waist (with a new 158-cm length option this season), a progressive flex and full sidewall construction plus tip rocker. “It feels like a powder ski more than an all-mountain ski because it prefers going off-piste,” notes Van Deursen.
