Marker's new Lord binding is the only non-climbing alpine binding that safely accommodates both alpine and AT boots. If you're a skier with multiple pairs of skis, it won't be necessary to have a touring set up on each pair, and the Lord also works with boots that have interchangeable soles. A unique pin system enables the toe to be toggled between two distinct positions, and then fine adjustment can be made via the AFD height adjustment screw found on many of Marker's other Royal Family models. This is a good option for skiers that hike a lot since more forgiving AT boots and their softer soles make boot-packing and navigating ice and rocks on exposed ridgelines easier. There is a slight, nearly negligible loss of power between the softer AT boot soles and the Lord binding interface, which doesn't matter in powder snow.
