Rossignol Soul 7 HD ski review, 2017/2018 men's Big Mountain Category, from our equipment experts at powered by Masterfit.

Rossignol has the knack for creating eye-catching graphics tied to technical stories. The new Air Tip 2.0 is likely to have the same hypnotic effect as the original, translucent Koroyd tip, but it’s a different structure in a couple of important ways. First, the Air Tip 2.0 isn’t a separate piece but an integrated, reinforced extension of the forebody. Second, it’s part of a refashioned front rocker that’s thinner and finds the edge earlier than previous versions. Along with Carbon Alloy Matrix, added to the Soul 7 last season, Air Tip 2.0 brings the Power properties of this supremely popular ski up to par with its already stellar Finesse qualities. Mindlessly simple to roll edge to edge, the 2018 Soul 7 HD puts more edge in the snow for greater security in all snow conditions. Even with the new alterations, the Rossignol Soul 7 HD’s extremities are still well tapered and rockered, but the camber pocket in the middle is loaded with lively rebound. “A marked improvement over last year’s Soul,” said Paul Jacobs. “Quicker to edge, more damp without loss of playfulness. Stronger carves, yet just as easy to ski.”
