Jody Kaufman Curtis, 38. What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you while skiing? “I watched Bill Johnson, Olympic gold medalist in DH, crash in the last race of his life that resulted in a terrible brain injury. It was very sad and scary.”

Tim Witman, 33. If you could ski with anyone (past, present or future) who would it be? “My grandfather was a laser physicist, loved skiing and always had the latest and greatest ski equipment. He read through all the ski test results to find out which skis and boots were the best. I’d love to ski with him and talk about how wide skis have gotten, the use of rocker and new technology.”

Bret Zawacki, 53. What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you while skiing? “My jacket, tied around my waste, got caught in the chair with no lift operators. As I rounded the bowl wheel, I was dangling. At 20 feet off the ground, the sleeves ripped off, and I bounced as I hit the ground. I was unhurt, and everyone laughed.”

Ali Sibley, 40. What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you while skiing? “I once hit a huge rut on a GS course on Skylark at Killington, VT. I pre-released and landed with my pole into my stomach, under my ribs. It was incredibly painful, but nothing broken or ruptured.”
