Incredible terrain and scenery
Only for the best skiers and boarders
I have been skiing for the last 36 years in the east, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, California, and Canada and this mountain has terrain that I would put against any other mountain. Mostly, it is steep and steeper. It gets a lot of snow, but it needs a lot of snow since it mostly faces east (not north). Since the base is relatively low altitude, the conditions there can be significantly different than higher up. Your entire group should be strong because beginners and the weak really don't belong here and will not have many choices of where to ski. I loved it and my wife doesn't want to come back for skiing and she has skied as long as I have. We agree that we loved the area and the vibe. JH is very family friendly only if everyone is strong on the mountain and you are not very price conscious.
