Jackson Hole has it all. It is one of my three favorite areas in the US (Big Sky and Alta/Bird being the others). I would put JHole up against any resort/town in North America for overall experience. It isn't that hard to get too (I've flown in for just over $300) the lodging options are numerous, the town has good nightlife and dining options, the people are friendly and the wildlife is abundant. Most importantly, the terrain and snow is out of this world. If it hasn't snowed in a while it could definitely suck, but if it has then you are in for one a treat. Its one of those places that you just laugh because its silly good. While it has a reputation for being more advanced, it still has terrain for the intermediate skier/rider as well. If you are just learning how to ski/ride than it may not be the best, but it would still suffice. Otherwise there isn't anywhere that's better(just as good) but not better. I feel like Jackson Hole is the complete package: terrain, snow, town, people and scenery/wildlife.
